The Gone With The Wind Movie Museum in Marietta Georgia has over 1,000 collection pieces, and you will see the world's largest collection of Gone With The Wind memorabilia including costumes worn by Vivien Leigh, Ona Munson, and Leslie Howard.

The Marietta Gone With the Wind Museum: Scarlett on the Square was established in April of 2003 and currently houses Dr. Christopher Sullivan's privately owned collection of Gone With The Wind book and movie memorabilia.

The collection features an impressive compilation of artifacts related to the novel and film including foreign film posters, rare press and publicity books, premiere programs, conceptual artworks, costume pieces, contracts, advertisements, promotional items and collectibles.

Highlights of the collection include the original Bengaline honeymoon gown worn by Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara in the film, several of Margaret Mitchell's personal volumes of the novel, an educational display dedicated to the African American cast members and a vast compilation of foreign editions of the novel.

On December 15, 1939, what many consider to be the classic American romance, Gone With The Wind, premiered at Loew's Grand on the corner of Peachtree and Prior Streets in downtown Atlanta. The movie provided a look back to the Civil War and the way it affected the lives of Southerners, black and white.

Margaret Mitchell had begun writing the novel in 1926, and the Marietta Gone With The Wind Movie Museum tells the story both of the Oscar award-winning movie and the book's author.

The museum is located just off the historic Marietta Square with shopping galore.
